Support

We are always grateful for any support.

Although we are affiliated to Riding for the Disabled Association (our 'Trade Association’) we are a financially independent company providing therapy for disabled children. In order to meet our costs, we rely entirely on the generous donations that are made to Newbury RDA and through Fundraising Events run by our Volunteers and other kind people.

Newbury Riding for the Disabled is a registered “good cause” with West Berkshire Lottery. Click here to buy tickets.

West Berkshire Lottery is an exciting weekly lottery that raises money for good causes in West Berkshire. All good causes supported by the lottery will benefit West Berkshire and its residents.

All good causes supported by the lottery will benefit West Berkshire and its residents.

  • Lottery Tickets cost £1 per week – 50p of each ticket goes to the chosen cause; 10p to a community fund which will enable one-off grants to be made to the lottery causes in addition to their direct fundraising and will be awarded by an independent panel on behalf of West Berkshire Council.
  • Each ticket has a 1 in 50 chance to win a prize each week, with a top prize of £25,000!
  • That’s a better chance of winning than the National Lottery or the Health Lottery!

Each ticket consists of 6 numbers between 0 and 9. A draw will take place every Saturday night when a 6-digit winning combination will be picked. Prizes will be given to players with tickets that match the first or last 2-6 numbers from the winning combination. Match all 6 and you win the JACKPOT!

Other opportunities are being considered. If you have a suggestion or would like to contribute in any way, please contact us.

FUNDRAISING PROJECT – NEW DATABASE FOR RIDER AND VOLUNTEER RECORDS

We are pleased to announce that we have almost reached our target for setting up our new Database on the SalesForce platform. We are most grateful to Greenham Trust and the Peter Baker Foundation for their continued support of Newbury RDA by provision of generous Grants towards this project; and to those private individuals who have so kindly made donations which have been matched by Greenham Trust. We aim to start programming soon in anticipation of having the database up and running in the first half of this year.

2018

Huge thanks to go Rapid7 who sent a group of volunteers to help us, in October, for the second year in succession; and to Vodafone who brought a team of around 30 volunteers in November to continue the good work (reports elsewhere on the website). In addition, we would like to thank Downe House for their continued help sending small groups to dig up ragwort, clean water troughs etc.

Work Parties provide invaluable assistance with many jobs, both small and large that mount up over the year, which often get overlooked until we notice in the autumn that everything seems to look a bit tired. Grateful thanks to all those who left their office jobs for a day to help us out – we hope they enjoyed themselves!

As always, many thanks go to all of our volunteers and supporters, without whom we would be unable to operate; to all those who ran fundraising events, especially those who run our highly successful Autumn Fair under the leadership of Carolyn Whitehead and Linda Benson; and to Merial Animal Heath who provide annual vaccinations for RDA ponies countrywide.

The Trustees would like to thank the following for their generous donations:

• Bucklebury Horse Club
• Curridge Saddle Club
• Downe House
• Englefield Charitable Trust
• Greenham Trust
• M McCalmont
• Newbury Dramatic Society
• Peter Baker Foundation
• Mr and Mrs Phipps
• Reading Male Voice Choir
• RDA South – Berkshire Fund
• RW Baird
• The Rind Foundation
• Truck Festivals Ltd
• Waitrose
• White Hart, Hampstead Norreys
• Yattendon & Frilsham Fete

And to the many other organisations and individuals who kindly made donations to Newbury RDA during the year.
