Downe House School Volunteers

Thank you to the girls and staff from Downe House School who spent a busy and productive day at Wyld Court.

The team of girls set to work with good spirits and cleared fields of ragwort, poo picked, spread wood chips and emptied and cleaned water troughs.  All basic tasks but so helpful to the daily running of the stables.

Newbury RDA have been grateful to the support we have received from Downe House over the years, both through their fundraising activities and practical contributions ranging from D of E volunteers through to work parties.

AWE Tooling Engineers Volunteer at Wyld Court

AWE Tooling Engineers Work Party came to Wyld Court during volunteer week recently and did a sterling job of tidying up our stables. Thank you guys, your help was much appreciated.

The ponies enjoyed the action too!

New Outdoor Riding School

In May 2022 we were given the opportunity by Greenham Trust to raise £5,000 in a day which they would then match by 5 times! As we needed an outdoor all weather arena the trustees took up the challenge.

So on 29 May 2022 we held a ‘5k for 5k’ sponsored walk from Wyld Court into the surrounding countryside. It was a great success and we managed to raise the fantastic sum of over £14,000 in 24 hours.

The work on the new arena began at the very beginning of January 2023 and was completed by the end of that month, when we started using it for our lessons. We held an official opening in May 2023.

The Trustees would like to say a big thank you to all the wonderful people who donated money to the challenge: without you our children would not be able to ride outside during the winter months.
